In one day I will be getting on a plane with Tyler Witsett to head to Italy to work on a project for Marzotto Group. Marzotto S.P.A. (http://www.marzotto.it/) is celebrating its 175 years of being in business and while doing this the company is also planning for its future in order to be able to celebrate many more years.
Many of you may be asking how did I , or Tyler get selected. In the month of August the company started to accept applications for the project called Weave the Future!(http://www.weavethefuture.it/) By September 19 we were notified for passing the first selection process. From this, 50 applicants were selected out of which only 25 would have the opportunity to work on the project. Next step was to create a video about Stile Italia (Italian Style). Results would come out September 30th, and during that week I anxiously waited for them. I remember that Friday morning as soon as I woke up, I went to open the computer to see the results. And there was an e-mail with the subject line "Results selection Weave the Future! Project. Would it be a yes? Or would it be a No?
As it turns out it was a yes. I worked with other team members on Exploring Strategic Opportunities for the company. In the coming week, the team will finalize the ideas and prepare to present the results to the company.
As I start the Italian Style adventure, I am inviting you all to join me on this experience. I hope we can learn together about Italy, the culture and most importantly the business practices of Marzotto group.
